1 Commitment
All member companies to endorse the goals and Guiding Principles for Sustainable Business Practice by the end of 2005.
2 Productivity
To become the most productive chemical industry in Europe by improving productivity by an average of six per cent a year.
3 Participation
All member companies to have processes for informing and consulting employees on matters that affect their working lives.
4 Diversity / equal opportunities
All member companies to have diversity / equal opportunities policies.
5 Employability
All member companies to support the acquisition of skills and knowledge that enable employees to contribute fully to the sustainable development of the business.
6 Occupational health and safety
To achieve a 50% reduction in lost time injuries and a 30% reduction in reportable diseases by 2010.
7 Incidents
To achieve a reduction to zero in Comah incidents reportable to EU and a 50% reduction in distribution incidents by 2010.
8 Resource use
To achieve an 11% improvement in energy efficiency; a 20% reduction in water usage per tonne of production and a 25% reduction in hazardous waste per tonne of production by 2010.
9 Environmental burden
To achieve a substantial overall reduction by 2010, including specific reductions in impact on human health and contributions to atmospheric acidification, global warming, photochemical ozone formation, aquatic oxygen demand and eutrophication.
10 Products
To develop a database of chemical substances marketed in the UK
