Learn about EU and UK-REACH

REACH is an ambitious chemical regulation and places a number of different obligations on manufacturers, importers and downstream users. This course will cover the major features of REACH, including Registration, Evaluation, Authorisation, Restriction, Articles and SVHC's, supply chain communication and Safety Data Sheets. This interactive virtual classroom is designed to meet the needs of regulatory and compliance managers tasked with delivering or overseeing the REACH registration requirements of their organisations. The course will provide the knowledge and techniques necessary to fulfil the registration obligations under the REACH Regulation and to manage the potential impact of the Regulation on their business.

This module also includes a detailed overview of the REACH Registration Process.

2. REACH Data Management, Data Sharing and Ongoing Compliance

Module 2 covers REACH Data Management, discussing data gap assessments, integrated testing strategies, use of alternative endpoint fulfilment methods and data costs. We also discuss data sharing methods including information on Substance Information Exchange Forums (SIEFs). We also discuss how to ensure compliance with your data management tools and strategy. An overview of UK-REACH will also be provided, and throughout this session, impacts from both a UK and non-UK perspective will be considered.

3. REACH for Downstream Users

This module is geared towards those further down the supply chain who use chemicals or produce/import articles, and covers all roles and activities that downstream users may undertake. Topics to be covered in this module include: Roles and responsibilities in the supply chain Determining your obligations Ensuring compliance Business Impact Management

4. Introduction to IUCLID and Creating an Inquiry and Joint Registration Dossier

This module covers how to prepare an IUCLID Dossier for an Inquiry and a Joint Registration using IUCLID Cloud. We also review each mandatory section from the chemical composition and analytical information, classification and labelling, PBT assessment, uses, guidance on safe use and CSR.

5. IUCLID for a Lead Registration and Dossier Submission

This module covers how to prepare an IUCLID Dossier for a Lead Registration using IUCLID Cloud.

6. Exposure Scenarios and the Chemical Safety Report

In this module, we provide an introduction to risk assessment and exposure scenarios. We also cover approaches to writing a Chemical Safety Report (CSR) and discuss obligations through the supply chain.

During this time, she has worked in research and development in the pharmaceuticals and speciality chemicals sectors. Her specialist area is organic chemistry with considerable experience in the characterisation of highly complex materials for regulatory purposes. Emma has played a key technical role in several major biocides projects, in particular those involving in situ generated actives.

Dr Letizia Carramusa

Regulatory Consultant

Dr. Letizia Carramusa joined Yordas Group in 2020 as a Regulatory Consultant, following a long-term experience as research scientist in international research institutions such as the Weizmann Institute and the Max Planck Institute. She holds a PhD in Cell and Molecular Biology and worked on projects ranging from cancer research, to material science and cellular biophysics with a focus on the mechanisms of cell motility and adhesion-dependent mechanosensitivity. In addition to the academic training, she has got significant teaching experience holding a post-graduate certificate in education (PGCE) and a qualified teacher status (QTS) awarded in the UK. Letizia’s day to day use of IUCLID means she is well placed to provide support during the practical exercises.

Dr Kamran Shekh joined the Yordas scientific team in 2020. He comes to Yordas with a solid mix of human toxicology and ecotoxicology research and consulting experience. A problem that Kamran worked on as a Regulatory Toxicologist for a client while working as a consultant, prompted him to return to pursue a PhD on the physiological, biochemical, and molecular basis of species-specific differences in the toxicity of metals. This work was followed by research at the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Alberta. At Yordas, Kamran provides his expertise in the areas of hazard and exposure assessment in the context of REACH and CLP.
