ChemTalent celebrates International Women’s Day 2024!
We celebrate the importance of a diverse & inclusive workforce within our industry with the theme #inspireinclusion ! #inspireinclusion is helping to raise awareness about different types of bias, stereotypes and discrimination that affects women. Within the ChemTalent committee we have women from various Chemical Industries Association member companies including Chantelle Minchin 👩🔬 , Imogen Foy , Hannah Mohsen , Thet Su Aye Chan , 2022 Young Ambassador Izzy Sloan & current Young Ambassador Amy Summerton.
Today we not only celebrate women but the continued campaign for a world that’s lead on diversity, equity and inclusion!
Chantelle Minchin, Degree Apprentice Chemist (Stepan Company The Manchester Metropolitan University) & Enable Science founder will be heading to University of Manchester for International Women’s Day. Chantelle will be part of a panel discussing intersectionality, highlighting the additional barriers faced by women belonging to minority groups and the importance of working together to #inspireinclusion.
Izzy Sloan, Chemical Engineer Degree Apprentice (GSK) commented ‘We all look for role models, especially in “male orientated” careers, it’s so important for women to be able to see someone relatable thriving in the same space as them- to be able to feel like they’re meant to be where they are and they can aim for great things also.’
Lucy Jones, European Graduate Trainee (Croda) commented ‘As we take this opportunity to celebrate women's achievements and resilience, we can reflect on the progress made in driving gender parity, while recognising that we still have work to do in building a more inclusive world.’
