The majority of the chemical industry is based in the Northern Powerhouse regions and Scotland, accounting for a sector turnover of £27 billion in these areas. These are the heartlands of CIA member companies. CIA facilitates the Regions working group of the Chemistry Council with the aim of driving regional economic development and supporting clean growth.

CIA has regional Site Managers and Local Employment networks to discuss, identify and work on regional issues, as well as sharing best practice and networking opportunities. CIA also runs more local Responsible Care Cells, providing a forum for health, safety and environment professionals. Most of our events and training courses are also held regionally, reducing travel time and expense for participating members.
