This course will provide an overview of current guidance, accepted good practice and the management processes needed to help participants develop an integrated approach to managing human performance.

It will cover Human Factors and Human Reliability, Design and Management of Procedures (SOPs), Competence Management and measurement metrics, including Process Safety Performance Indicators (PSPIs), all of which are current hot topics for the HSE. However, instead of dealing with them in isolation, as is often the case, the course will show how the subjects can be tackled as part of a unified approach to improving overall safety performance. This is a requirement that was underlined by the recent findings of the COMAH Competence Authority Intelligence Review Group (CAIRG).

While the course content is derived from best practices at COMAH sites, it is equally applicable to addressing performance in all business domains of Quality, Cost, Delivery and People in addition to Safety (SQCDP).

The CIA Member price is £300.00 plus VAT
The Non-member price is £350.00 plus VAT

The course is aimed at anyone with a part to play in managing human reliability and human factors from a process safety management and/or business systems perspective.
