Value Stream Mapping - Application in the Process Industries

Event Details

The application of Value Stream Mapping in the process industries is different to other widget and/ or automotive environments. The way process organisations run, the variables that can be controlled, the types of improvements that can be made, and the barriers to change are different. HFL Consulting, who run this course on behalf of the CIA, have nearly twenty years of experience in applying Value Stream Mapping in the process industries, and in that time we have learnt a thing or two about how to do it. Benefit from our experience and knowledge of how best to map your processes, avoid the traps and pitfalls unique to the process industry, and be guided on the most likely areas of opportunity in your organisation.

Through the use of practical exercises to illustrate real life scenarios, case study examples of challenges we have faced and the solutions we have come up with, this course will take you through the steps of creating current and future state Value Stream Maps, including a suite of other mapping and analytical tools that go alongside a Value Stream Map to reveal the sources of issues and problems that need to be addressed in order to improve your organisation’s performance.

CIA Member rate is £300.00 plus VAT
Non-member rate is £350.00 plus VAT

£40 discount for second and subsequent delegates applied at checkout if booked at the same time.

Value Stream Mapping is a powerful and useful tool in understanding how your processes work, and in developing a plan to improve. This course is aimed at those looking for, or charged with finding, opportunities to drive business improvements. These may be to improve on-time-in-full (OTIF) deliveries, or to reduce lead times/ increase stock turns, to remove waste and improve productivity, or perhaps to just make operations simpler and easier day to day.

Value Stream Mapping is a flexible tool useful for mapping a wide range of business processes. Although usually applied to manufacturing operations, it can be used to map any routine business process. This course will be of prime interest to:

  • Sales & Operations Planning personnel

  • Production managers

  • Logistics personnel

  • Business improvement/ continuous improvement personnel

  • Cross functional improvement teams

  • Site leadership team members
