The aim of the Innovate UK Transforming Foundation Industries (TFI) Challenge is to make the sector more competitive by improving the resource and energy efficiency of the metals, ceramics, glass, chemicals, paper and cement sectors.
This webinar, specifically for the chemicals industry, explores two funding opportunities that might be of interest to you, and how the eligibility relates to your sector as part of the foundation industries.
The TFI Small Scale R&D Competition will open on 16th August. It will be a £1.5m competition to fund innovation projects with total eligible costs of £25,000 to £250,000. The low minimum size of grant funding being offered is in response to requests from smaller companies. To further encourage applications for smaller innovation projects there will be a shorter application process for projects up to £75,000, and collaboration is not essential.
The TFI Investor partner scheme offers smaller companies the chance to access Innovate R&D project funding alongside Investor equity investment. Our five Investor Partners can offer equity at least equal to the funding from Innovate, enabling companies an excellent opportunity to scale and grow at pace. There is a total of £7m funding available from Innovate UK, which is in addition to the funding from our Investor Partners. This is a rolling competition that is open until 10th November.
