12th June 2019 (9.45am - 1pm) - The Innovation Centre Sci-Tech Daresbury
Chemical Northwest in association with the RPS Group is pleased to present an interactive, knowledge-sharing workshop that will provide a better understanding of a new British Standard that focusses on the need to have your detectors correctly positioned. Industry is currently addressing this issue through the development of a British Standard (BS 60080:2019: Explosive and Toxic Atmospheres: Hazard Detection Mapping – Guidance on the placement of permanently installed detection devices using software tools and other techniques) that is to be released later this year and RPS sits on the committee authoring this standard.
This workshop will give an introduction to the factors to consider when conducting flame and gas detector mapping from defining a philosophy and detection targets through to the software techniques that can be employed to ensure an optimised solution is achieved. This includes the important role that effective gas detection plays within a structured process safety management system, in order to assure the protection of people, the environment, assets and corporate reputation.Agenda (all timings are approximate)
