Neil Finney from Derwent James will be introducing Biral...For many petro and chemical manufacturing facilities, thunderstorms and lightning strikes can play a significant role in disrupting operations from an increased risk of ignition due to static electricity, as well as lightning strikes to the plant and process equipment. Many manufacturing and storage transfer processes have to be made safe or halted completely when a thunderstorm is in the vicinity as part of the risk mitigation and safety protocols on-site. Both cause loss of productivity and efficiency for the plant operators. The lightning early warning system from Biral is proven technology to reduce these concerns.

Our second speaker will be Steve Bennett from Business of Science.
Science and the commercialisation of science continue to be fundamental to the economic growth of the UK and its economy. Following previous successful years in Manchester (2016 & 2017), Liverpool (2018) and Leeds (2019), the Business of Science conference will be moving to Birmingham in 2020 to highlight that City and the wider region’s successful role in the development of ground-breaking science, innovation and invention.  Full details can be viewed at www.businessofscience.co.uk.  With increasing investment into STEM and the drive to increase relevant skills, this is a perfect time to welcome the conference to the West Midlands where the relationship between Science, Innovation, Business and Skills will be discussed and CNW members will have the opportunity to engage with new markets before the Conference returns to Manchester in May 2021.

Our third speaker will be Kevin Murray from Axiom Engineering Associates Ltd will be outlining Axiom's offerings - Mechanical, Materials and accredited Inspection & NDT services and how we can support other members of CNW with improved asset integrity management.
