PURPOSE
This Award is for the company or operating unit that can demonstrate excellence in sustainability, through its policies, products, manufacturing processes, and supply chain.
ELIGIBILITY
This Award is open to any company who manufactures chemicals or pharmaceuticals in the UK. Following initial judging, applicants will be notified if they have been short-listed by 10 May 2024. The winner will be announced at the Chemical Industry Awards Dinner.
CRITERIA
Judges will be looking for demonstrable leadership by and a commitment to sustainable development exemplified in its culture, policies, strategies, commitment to continuously improving it’s the environmental, economic and social performance. Applicants should include illustrative and flagship practical examples of sustainability initiatives and projects, backed by metrics where possible. In particular nominations will be assessed on:
- Leadership which is visibly demonstrated.
- Identification of suitable Sustainable Development strategies for your business
- Demonstration of positive stakeholder impact (e.g. customers, communities, employees)
- Demonstrable commitment to one area of Sustainable development associated with CIA’s Materiality Assessment or the UN Sustainability goals
JUDGING
Judging will be carried out by a sponsor, CIA staff member and an independent expert.
