This Award is to recognize an outstanding young person demonstrating communication skills and leadership associated with the chemical industry and contributing to its success.
The award is open to any person 29 or under on 30 September 2019 who is employed in the chemical manufacturing industry or is working for a company supplying key services to chemical manufacturers in the UK.
A manager of the company should nominate the candidate. Each site or major unit of a company may submit up to three candidates.
Following an initial review of the nomination forms selected candidates will be invited for an interview and presentation. Applicants will then be notified if they have been short-listed. Any applicant unable to attend the interview will not be shortlisted. The winner will be announced at the Chemical Industry Awards Dinner on 13 June in Liverpool and each short-listed candidate will receive an invitation to attend. Winning applicants should be willing to participate in publicity.

Nomination forms will be used to identify a pre-shortlist of candidates who will be invited for to give a presentation and be interviewed by a panel of judges. Short listed candidates will be notified shortly after the interview and invited to attend the Awards Ceremony, at which the winner will be announced.
The judging Panel will comprise the sponsor, a CIA staff member and an independent judge.
The CIA and the sponsor will arrange a programme of activities for the winner, including being chair of the Future Forum. Submission of a nomination will be regarded as commitment in principle to fulfill this programme.
