In a unique communications partnership, the Chemical Industries Association and ITN Productions are producing a news and current affairs-style programme exploring the importance and value of the chemical industries in the UK, and underline the importance of investment in innovation, trade and research.

Solutions for our Future’ will highlight how businesses within the chemical industries contribute £80 million to the UK economy every day. Without their commitment and innovation, the stability, safety and security of products in the UK could not be guaranteed. The programme will challenge how most people take the contribution of the chemical industries for granted and change the way that we look at the world around us.

The programme will play an important role for the Chemical Industries Association in showcasing the value and significance of work done in the chemistry and pharmaceutical industry. ‘Solutions for our Future will focus on how our chemical industries are setting up the world for our future generations.

Drawing upon ITN’s 60-year heritage and expertise in storytelling, the news-style piece will be anchored by Natasha Kaplinsky to combine key interviews and reports with sponsored editorial profiles from leading organisations.

Solutions for our Future’ will premiere at the CIA’s Annual Conference & Dinner on 15th November 2018, as well as form part of an extensive communications campaign featuring CIA members, industry partners, government partners, as well as relevant journalists, writers and bloggers.

Steve Elliott, Chief Executive, CIA said: “The UK chemical sector is a vital industry as it underpins almost every aspect of everyday life. This project is a major opportunity for the Association and our member companies and our collaboration with ITN will showcase examples of the industry delivering strong, environmental, societal and economic solutions.”

Simon Shelley, Head of Industry News, ITN Productions, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with the Chemical Industries Association to produce a programme exploring the vital importance of chemical industries in the UK. We’re excited to embark on the programme and engage with professionals throughout the sector and beyond to tell that story. We hope the content can be used to share best practise, innovation and ideas to shape a sustainable future.”
