Process safety audits typically involve a comprehensive review of safety documentation, interviews with personnel involved in safety management, and on-site inspections of facilities and equipment. The goal is to create a proactive safety culture, prevent incidents, protect the well-being of employees, and minimise the environmental and community impact of industrial operations.

The Regulations also require operating companies to carry out audits of the safety management system (SMS) as a part of normal business.

This course will take delegates through the key features of an effective SMS, regulatory requirements, relevant standards and guidance, scope and type of audits, programme development, competency requirements and actions management, reporting and review.
