Our Host for the Evening
Roger Johnson
Roger is a lead news presenter on North West Tonight, co-hosting lunchtime and evening bulletins.
After working as reporter for BBC Radio Solent, BBC Radio Manchester, and South Today (where he won the Regional Sports Presenter of the Year title from the Royal Television Society) he joined North West Tonight to replace long-term anchor Gordon Burns.
Roger has also presented BBC Breakfast and coverage on the BBC News Channel, and reported for Match of the Day and Final Score. He has led regional coverage in the North West and the south of Children in Need.
Dress Code
Dress code is black tie for men and equivalent attire for ladies.

After such fantastic feedback about the venue for the 2025 Awards, we have chosen to rebook with the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool and are excited to announce the launch of the Chemicals Northwest 2026 Awards programme. Excitement is already building. The awards will culminate with a first-class gala dinner celebration and announcement of winners at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool on the 19th March 2026.
The 2026 Awards will incorporate a fantastic pre-dinner drinks reception hosted in the Rum Warehouse bar which will be sponsored by AXIOM. We are also delighted to welcome CHEMUK 2026 as our Headline Partner for the event and MannTek who are sponsoring the awards brochures. We are delighted to announce that the Chemicals Northwest 2025 Awards will take place at the Titanic Hotel in Liverpool on the 20th March 2025. Further details to follow soon.
Chemicals Northwest members and non- members play a critical role towards delivering success in our industry and in many downstream sectors. The Awards honour excellence across a wide spectrum of business activity, from Innovation to Sustainability and from Young Talent to Supplier to the Chemical Industry.
We are delighted to showcase the outstanding successes from our very own chemical sector, a resilient and dynamic industry which is at the heart of the UK. The annual, much anticipated Chemicals Northwest Awards remains a highlight of the chemical industry calendar and we are delighted to open the categories for entry.
