9.30am registration, 10.00am start - 12.30pm finish with a networking lunch.

The Innovation Centre, Sci Tech Daresbury.

This highly interactive session will be facilitated once again by SLR. Caroline Dolan from SLR will be presenting. One of the key aspects of turning data into insights and intelligence is having a hold on data quality and collection methodology. This is a very common issue in sustainability reporting, output is dependent on input and input relies on engaged data users and owners. Often seen as a technical issue, in reality the key is in engaging and obtaining buy-in from people.

We will also feature a case study from Libra Speciality Chemicals Ltd. Based in Manchester, Libra Speciality Chemicals Ltd is a leading UK chemical manufacturer and global distributor of surfactants and speciality industrial chemicals. For over 50 years, Libra has been producing and developing a wide range of products with different properties and purposes in customer formulations such as primary, secondary and co-surfactants, detergents, emulsifiers, dispersing agents and stabilisers. Looking to the future, Libra has embarked on the daunting task of calculating and assessing its greenhouse gas emissions and carbon footprint, but a small company of <100 employees faces significant challenges in doing this that larger corporations do not. Richard Kinchin is the company’s Compliance, Regulatory & Environment Officer and has been (almost) single-handedly managing the whole process. Richard will give a brief overview of those challenges, including those that have been overcome, those that are still ongoing, and those anticipated as the company works towards Net Zero.

Members of Chemicals Northwest only. Free of charge to attend.
