Our first presenter will be Chris Hart, Managing Director of Graham Hart Process Technology. Chris will reflect on the company’s journey as it approaches its 53rd year in business. Recently named one of The Manufacturer’s Top 100 for his inspiring leadership in UK manufacturing, Chris will share insights into the company’s evolution—highlighting its digital transformation, lean manufacturing initiatives, and continued success in a changing industrial landscape. He’ll also explore the vital role of partnerships with educational institutions in shaping the next generation of engineers and securing the future of British manufacturing.
Our second presenter will be Iain Pritchard, Site Manager of Bachem (UK) Ltd. Bachem manufactures synthetic peptides for use in research and in vitro diagnostic medical devices at their ISO 13485 certified site in St Helens. They manufacture around 1,000 different products annually, supplying from 1mg up to 200g batch sizes, using state of the art automated equipment at every stage of the process.

At Sci-Tech Daresbury we’re creating a ‘Home for Life’, providing a perfect business location for technology companies to scale their business. Our long-term ambition is to create 10,000 jobs on campus by delivering 1 million square feet of space for scientific, technological, business and research facilities. Our next development Violet phase 2, which provides larger office and CL2-enabled laboratory space, will be part of the Liverpool City Region Innovation Zone. Companies scaling into this space will be eligible for occupier benefits such as business rates relief, National Insurance contribution holidays and enhanced capital allowances. Sci-Tech Daresbury is a private-public joint-venture partnership between developers Langtree, the Science Technology Facilities Council (STFC), and Halton Borough Council.
Emmanuel Dupuis from STFC will give a introduction to STFC – Science and Technology Facilities Council is part of UKRI, the UK’s national funding agency for science, technology, and innovation. Our mission is to explore the mysteries of the universe, which drives our involvement across a wide range of scientific and technological fields.
At Daresbury, we offer cutting-edge facilities in areas such as particle physics, biotechnology, health technologies, chemical innovation, and high-performance digital solutions.
