New CTM (conical twin mixer) technology has step changed production capability to meet the challenges of our customers’ new product applications and has made Barry the proud flagship Silicone Elastomer site in Dow.

A significant capital expansion project into Silicone Elastomers at Dow’s Barry site in the UK has paved the way for growth in the electric vehicle market. Ongoing product development is evaluating new applications in high performance car batteries, linked to more miles and capacity on electric vehicles, high voltage cable insulation and flexible LED headlighting. Production capacity has also increased for supplying components for existing automotive environmental innovations including ad blue diesel systems and high efficiency hybrid engines.
