For nearly 40 years, Catalyst has provided a unique place where people can discover, question and engage with science. It is both a science discovery centre and a museum of the chemical heritage of the Northwest — a place that connects the science and industries, past and present, with the innovators, scientists, and communities of the future.  Today, a combination of circumstances has meant that future is under real and severe financial threat.

Catalyst is not asking others to solve a problem that it is unwilling to address itself.  The Trustees and leadership team are taking significant and difficult action to reduce costs, generate income and fundamentally change the way the organisation operates.  However, we urgently need funds to bridge the gap to the new business model.

Current financial modelling indicates that, without significant intervention, Catalyst will run out of cash and become insolvent by end October 2026.  £100k of extra support could help Catalyst emerge leaner, more flexible, and more resilient, while continuing to protect its unique heritage, inspire people through science and deliver opportunities for children, families, schools and communities across the region.

Can you offer some support now? £1k, £5k, £10k, £20k? Please help us to keep Catalyst alive.  The quickest way to donate is via our website “donate” button >>https://www.catalyst.org.uk/ or via bank transfer to our account (details below).  Alternatively, we will be happy to send an invoice for sponsorship.
