In order to meet future water reduction targets Futamura upgraded ageing plant by commissioning a new water treatment plant in mid-2019 to treat abstracted water prior to use in manufacturing. The new plant consists of four continuous upflow sand filters, buffer tank and lamella (solids separation) unit.
