CIA wins 5% energy efficiency target for UK chemicals
The Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ) has accepted the CIA’s counterproposal under the Climate Change Agreement, agreeing to a 5% energy efficiency improvement by 2030, down 7 percentage points from DESNZ’s proposed target of 12%.

Energy costs and international economic uncertainty attack the core of British industry
The latest CIA quarterly business survey showed that one third of Britain’s chemical companies experienced falls in sales, production levels and capacity utilisation. This performance is directly attributed to the cost of energy and international economic uncertainty.
