CIA’s Chief Executive reacts to the announcement.
Steve Elliott, Chief Executive of the Chemical Industries Association, said:
“We welcome today’s announcement that the UK will be part of Horizon Europe. It is fantastic to know that, after years of uncertainty, the science community will have better stability to drive forward our ambition to grow the economy and work to establish the UK as a science superpower. The chemical industry, as a crucial supplier to various key industries, including pharmaceuticals and food as well as aerospace and automotive, will be able to support those to tackle the biggest challenges of our time, from climate change to health to sustainability”
Against a backdrop of very limited economic growth and public expenditure squeeze, today’s Government Spring Statement does however offer some opportunity for UK business investment.
