CIA Chemicals Management
CIA puts advocacy into action to ensure the UK policy environment is growth-sensitive, with decision-making based on risk instead of hazard. In line with CIA’s principles of engagement on substance specific issues, we also act on what matters the most to member companies, particularly where regulatory proposals may set up a precedent of consequence that could affect a broader range of chemicals and the wider CIA membership.
UK REACH
UK REACH is a regulation that applies to the majority of chemical substances that are manufactured in or imported into Great Britain (GB) (England, Scotland, Wales). This can be a substance on its own, a substance in a mixture, for example ink or paint, a substance that makes up an ‘article’ - an object that is produced with a special shape, surface or design, for example a car, furniture or clothes. Product Stewardship Guidance
Product Stewardship integrates all aspects of a product’s health, safety and environmental management through its lifecycle, taking into account existing and emerging regulatory requirement, societal pressures and best business practices.
